“You can gain strength from many things and spiritual faith is one of them. Spiritual faith is knowing that there’s a greater force at work; greater than you as an individual. You know that all is okay and is as it should be, even if in this moment it doesn’t appear to be so.
When you rely on others for strength, you become dependent on the outside world to determine your worth and fate. Even with the best will in the world, no-one can truly know who you are and what is right for you. Spiritual faith, on the other hand, comes from within; it forms the fabric of who you are and what you believe in; it helps you find strength to get through difficult situations and know that all is okay just as it is.
Life is a singular experience; you meet, interact and love, many people in your lifetime but no one can truly know who you are, as you’re the only one living your life. They can only look on through their eyes, form an opinion and give their advice. However, real strength comes from having faith in yourself, having an inner knowing that the decisions you are making are the right ones for you and that the outside world cannot truly threaten you.
Whatever you have faith in- God, or an omnipresent universal consciousness- it makes no difference; having faith that you are not alone, that there is a force at work helping you to experience a full and varied life filled with ups and downs, is enough to keep you strong.
